FIONA RAE at TIMOTHY TAYLOR GALLERY

Throughout my time on the foundation course I have been learning and understanding more about paintings and paint. When I went to see Fiona Rae's exhibition I continued to enjoy and understand mark making and impressions. As a matter of fact i saw a lot of religious connotations in majority of her paintings which is probably far from what she might have expected people to see. The figures in the painting are ever so clear and visible through the shapes.

Whiles at the gallery I decided to drag figures from her paintings on my phone. Even now, as I'm writing this post I see more figures and landscapes from her work.

A figurative painting has the same qualities as an abstract painting, the brush strokes colour comparisons etc. As of now I am unsure of whether this is a figurative painting or an abstract painting although there is no ''physical'' body present

I really love the various colours and shades that she used.
